I've got ten people watching my auction for the advance reading copy of Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends- but only two bids. I'm thinking bidding frenzy on Tuesday. We can hope any way.
Picture of me with Kirk Talley on the cruise. Lately, pictures of me make me look... baldish. Ish. Sort of . But I'm not. I'm a veritable Samson. Really.
Stupid cameras. (hidden behind a cut to shield you from the glare off my forehead)

Yes, I'm still talking about the cruise. Why?
I work in a mall.
Under flourescent lights.
I have to deal with customers who think it's my fault that Stephen King hasn't come out with anything new.
I have to deal with writers who think that "author" is a title, as in Author Jane Doe. Not her real name, of course. And when she calls us, she announces herself as with an accent "Arthur Jane Doe." And she sends a a poster announcing her book is available from our competition.

So when I think back, it makes all of that bearable.

Still haven't gotten the last few bits about the cruise up. A dangerously potent mix of too busy and too lazy overlapping.
I have, however, gotten some auctions up on ebay- including ARCs from Christopher Moore and Joe R. Lansdale.
I've added links to my Youtube page where I've uploaded two videos, one of Shane Dunlap singing Take Me to Paradise and Rick Strickland singing Chunk of Coal, both from the cruise.
I also added a link to Bookworm and Beyond, my books and media blog on
My co-worker Cassi has started to scare me. One: She looks JUST LIKE ROSE from Doctor Who, including the presence of pink in her wardrobe. Two: Discussing the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie, she said that Davy Jones reminded her of Cthulhu. The fact that she knows who Cthulhu is has to be one of the indicators that the Stars Are Right.
Technology is a wonderful thing... I've figured out how to patch my Digital Box into my vcr so I can see on my TV what the Box is seeing. Using the Box's record function, I can make videos and be sure of what getting now. Of course, I realize this way lies madness.
I have a new short term goal: Learn the lyrics to Yo Ho, Yo Ho A Pirates Life for Me, then go out, drink beer and host a sing-along. Because I'm all for any song whose chorus is "Drink up, me hearties, Yo Ho!"
"You're like a brother to me." I love the Geico Gekko.
New long term goal: Prep for WHC 2007. Toronto, here I come!!

Almost done with Music pt2. Checking the albums the performers have so the song titles I scrawled in my notebook over a week ago are right.
I need to open an Youtube account. The hosting of the videos doesn't seem to work, so I'm going to post them there.
I love this comment in their Terms of Service:
For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions.
On their TOS page, it was in bold, about half a size larger than the rest of the paragraph.
So, that's another link I need to add to my page: youtube and
Checking my technorati links, it turns out that a cruise lines blog picked up one of my posts. POSSIBLY because the subject line was "Cruise". Hopefully their search engine is very, very clever... because Mission Impossible 3 is opening today with that fellow who jumps on couches. You know the one... he's smart enough to tell Brooke Shields her post-partum depression is imaginary, but not smart enough to avoid putting his girlfriend in the family way.
Mom and Dad are on a micro-roadtrip. I can't help be see them driving down the highway, dad asleep in the passenger's seat because of the meds he's on because of his shoulder operation, mom driving. I've got Melissa Etheridge's "Baby you can sleep while I drive" playing in my head while seeing this.
I took the best picture of them recently. I really need to post that. Sums them up to a T.
