Good Lord. I've become so used to customer abuse I've started to dream about it.
Grumpy guy in dream:"Why don't you have any books about Bolton?"
Dream Me:"Probably because the whole... thing isn't over yet."
Grumpy guy:"It's because you're a liberal bookstore..."
Me:"No sir, we can't sell what isn't out..."
He then proceeds to abuse me verbally. And of course, I take it because that's what we're paid to do.
Then someone sits down and begins to tune a guitar... this is the transition to waking up, the guitar music is from NPR.
And waking to NPR isn't much better: A police officer dies during chaos in Philadelphia between health care activists/biotech protesters and- to use NPR's terminology- renegade skateboaders. Waking up to hippies chanting "Health Care Is A Right! Health Care! Is! A! Right!" I'm not quite capturing their rythmns. Is there nothing these people can't turn into a chant though? "We Really Really Miss Dead Jerry, But Phish Is Pretty Good! Hey Hey! We Really Really Miss Dead Jerry, But Phish Is Pretty Good!"

Greg Kihn is going to be on the has-been reality contest show "Hit Me Baby One More Time."*
Thankfully the song they're using on the commercials is his "The Break Up Song."
From 1981. Man. This was the sort of thing I'd only hear at odd random moments, like changing stations at one in the morning on a hot summer night.
It's funny that "Jeopardy" was the *hit* most people are familiar with, but the one they've chose is the one that gets me. Not sure what it is about the song, that chorus perhaps.
"Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh"
Ok, so it's not that dramatic typed out.
Not saying watch the show, but if you get a chance to hear it... check it out.

*Agh. Thelma Huston is singing "Don't Leave Me This Way," a song I can't mentally hear by anyone by Jimmy Sommerville and the Communards.
