Sep. 23rd, 2004 12:04 amAfter thinking about Spam in a Cabin, I decided to put in one of my favourites, April Fool's Day. The characters aren't all complete stereotypes and the plotting doesn't suck. One of the characters is reading Paradise Lost. The main character quotes "Boswell's Life of Johnson."
They're college seniors who LOOK and act like college seniors, as opposed to playing highschool seniors who look like college seniors.
Plus it's got Leah Pinsent in it. Don't ask who. Just click the link. Look at her. Stunning. The movie's nearly eighteen yeats old, and she hasn't changed much.

And
quote:
In a formal statement later, Islam said Rushdie's "blasphemous book insults God and his prophets, including those prophets honored by Christians, Jews, as well as Muslims."
So. Do the math.
He backpeddled but it's right there. Backpeddling on the page linked as well.
The odd thing is the reaction to Yusuf Islam's treatment I've been reading is in the LJ's of writers and friends of writers.
I'm just... confused, that's all.
Damn Hippy.
