One more damn podcast post...
Dec. 6th, 2004 02:21 amCoverville. Ok, I can handle Michelle Pfeiffer singing My Funny Valentine- tho the Matt Damon rendition will always have a special place in my heart- and Mel Torme doing Sunshine Superman wasn't THAT bad. But...
oh, lord...
the horror...
Pat Boone singing Metallica's Enter Sandman. It was just wrong.
So
Very
Wrong.
Turning the mp3 off, at least for a few hours...

Date: 2004-12-06 04:07 am (UTC)I've been listening to mp3s that people are setting up as feeds online. Coverville's a show that plays nothing but covers. That's where I heard the abomination.

Date: 2004-12-06 11:30 am (UTC)Pat Boone actually appeared in metal garb at, I think, the Grammy's, to promote his metal cover cd. It was quite funny yet scary too watch. Leather pants, a leather vest, fake tattoos on his pecs, leather collar... apparantly it didn't go down too well with his more conservative/christian fanbase.
The cover itself is definitely scary, he's way too happy and cheerful singing that song.
Another cover they trashed on that show was Sheryl Crow covering Guns 'n' Roses Sweet Child O' Mine, which wasn't really bad, but when you love the original a lot, was kind of painful.
