Apr. 10th, 2005 12:09 amThis has been a pretty cool week.
Last night was Godzilla at the Naro.
Subtitles. Japanese. NO Raymond Burr. If you can contextualize stuff, it's pretty scary. Post WW2 Japan. Can you imagine, within that context, just how terrifying a flash of light and heat would be?
Little Gil had a blast, and Rogue and I hit a truckstop for eggs afterwards. Truckstop. Geeze. It's probably been at least... ten, fifteen years since I've been in a truckstop. At two in the morning. Rogue is fun.
Phone calls are phun... I've made to especially fun ones this week- one to California, there's a payphone at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. There's a line waiting for Star Wars Ep3 there. Too bad it's not going to be playing there. Read about it here.
And on Wednesday, Doc Brite was having a signing in New Orleans and expressed some concern about the weather. So um. I called the bookstore and bought a copy for her to sign. The people at Garden District books we're really nice about taking the order.
