Apr. 17th, 2005 10:49 pmStar Trek: Enterprise is winding down. They get canceled just as soon as the hot continuity porn kicks in:
The Gorns- Yeah. I *hope* that's foreshadowing, but we've only got four more episodes.
The Deltans- Man, when I was a kid, the Deltans weirded me out. I mean, the first thing Ilia says is "my oath of celebacy is on record." So. I have to look up celibacy. This was when I was 10 yrs old. Agh. (looking at IMDB- wow. I didn't realise Persis Khambatta had passed away.)
The Orions. Green Women. Scantly clad green women. I have *no* idea why they fascinate me like they do.
The Mirror Universe! Next week's previews rock. Evil Archer. Maybe, instead of a dog, he'll have a cat. That way, we'll KNOW he's evil.
--
This week begins the Azelea Festivel, a botanical celebration of NATO. Really. I mean, could I make something like THAT up? This year's Azelea Queen is from Norway, so there's a sudden influx of Norweigans into Norfolk. Military Norweigans. In Uniform.
Sometimes, life is good.

I need...
I need to get out. My dad and I were talking about Ottawa tonight at dinner- dinner at Crackers, asparagus, chicken with collards, chocalate bread pudding, mmm good eatin'- and it got me feeling... travely.
And the fact that he started off by calling it Ontario instead of Ottawa... I'm like "if *you're* you're going to Ontario, *I'm* going to Ontario." I was even looking at the CNE site last night.
Coincidence?
Probably.
--
Spent most of the day with Amy, doing our usual run of Trilogy Shop, Planet Music and Barnes and Noble.
I picked up the soundtrack of Creature from the Black Lagoon (magically ringing up at $9.99, despite the $16.99 pricetag on the package and the going price of $28.98 on Amazon)at Planet Music, while B&N had the new issue of Rue Morgue.
Hmm. Douglas Winter once stated "Horror is not a genre like mystery or science fiction or the western . . . Horror is an emotion." I think I'm wacky enough to say "maybe... it's a lifestyle."
--
Watching Revelations on NBC, an encore of the pilot. The death on the golf course opener is as funny as I'd heared. The score's a little intrusive, but the visuals are pretty. The show itself isn't bad. It's no Millennium. But then, Millennium was Millennium, and Revelations is Revelations, and this is who we are*.
Yeah,. I'm a geek.
--
Oh. Oh my... Mentally drawing lines between imaginary dots to form theoretical pictures. CNE, last night. Rue Morgue, today. Ontario, Tonight.- The Rue Morgue Festival of Fear is being held at the same time as the CNE.
When I was looking at the CNE site, I didn't even know I'd be seeing Amy today, and by time we got to B&N, I'd gotten so focused on a couple of Warren Ellis comics (Angel Stomp Future and Iron Man #3 at Trilogy- Ellis is in Toronto right now, by the way- ah. I'm just superimposing my own desires over random signals.
Or maybe they're not so random.
Or maybe, I'm insane.
*This was one of the catch phrases of the Millennium Group in the tv show.
