Searching for K. pt 1
Jul. 10th, 2005 01:45 pmWell, this weekend I've become obsessed with finding out what happened to an actor. You won't recognize his name, so I'm going to call him K.
K. was in one movie back in the eighties, a liscensed property that flopped. And then he "disappeared." Maybe he's teaching school. Or selling insurance. I know he hasn't passed away, because his passing would have still managed a "bleep" on Entertainment tonight or Access Holliwood's radar.
The problem with starting something like this on a weekend is all the offices are closed.
So right now, I'm doing the mental roadwork- he's still going to receive royalties, right? I figure "follow the money" will be my first approach. Especially since the movie went to DVD in England back in 2003.
And I realize: no, they won't be giving me his email, or his phone number, or his address. But if I get to the point where I can verify his continued existance, I can provide mine.
Why am I doing this? Right now I blame multiple factors, starting with reading a comic book inspired by the licensed property, then reading a couple of the original novels, and watching an earlier, classic version of the movie. Combining all this with a bag of Snickers Popables and two bottles of Pepsi, it's a wonder I haven't exploded.
