Jul. 25th, 2005 09:38 amIt's been a while since I've sat and actively listened to "Classical" music. It's a great backgroud default when writing, of course, no words and all that.
But in the course of writing the radioplay, I had to find a copy of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1 in B-minor. Even in the gawdawful midi format, it's astounding. If the first couple of minutes don't touch you, you've got no soul. I'm sure that if I were to hear this in a full orchestral version, I'd be a sobbing wreck in seconds. In a good way.
