Jul. 31st, 2005 09:44 amJust got Kirk Talley's Greatest Hits in the mail yesterday. Good stuff. I bought it primarily for his cover of "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," which is right up there with Sarah Harmer's cover.

New air conditioning unit is under siege by deranged squirrel. Little twerp has gnawed spots out of the plastic barrier the fills the space between window unit and the window sill. Hoping Vinegar will make the space unfriendly to Mr Rodent, but I'm also going to get some crushed red pepper to sprinkle on the ledge. Just when I thought I'd gotten over my Irrational Dislike of them, and their little pawlike hands, and their beady little eyes, and their "surgically sharp*" teeth.

* It's true. Outwitting Squirrels said so. I read this when I was writing a "nature gone bad" story... and then I watched the movie "Bats" and realized we had the same idea. I may pick it up again and finish it as a light hearted take on the subgenre. "Why, hey there little feller... wha- wha- ARRRGH."
