Squirrel siege continues. This time I am prepared... peppers. The kind you sprinkle on pizza. As soon as I'm sure it's safe, I'm going out and putting some on the ledge. But with squirrels you can never be sure when it's safe...

I honestly had intended on going to church this morning... but when I'm off, I get kind of... irrational. Mildly irrational. I can go like 36 hours without human contact. Lots of smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee. Almost as much time spent in bed, and with the new a/c unit, in bed under the covers.
I withdraw. Call me Smokey the Turtle Boy.

The President has weighed in on the Intelligent Design question. And Santorum has said that ID lacked scientific credibility and should not be taught in science class. Wow. Santorum has said something that doesn't make me feel nervous.

I listened to Sonic Flood's I Could Sing of Your Love Forever last night. It's an evil, evil piece of music. One verse, sung by male, chorus: I could sing of Your love... repeated ad nauseam, verse repeated, sung by female, chorus, chorus, chorus. I will give CCM another try... eventually, once I've cleared the horror from my psyche. Must find my copy of "Love is Blue..."
It's easy to see how South Park was able to parody CCM... "All we have to do is cross out words like "baby" and "darling" and replace them with Jesus."
I even told a co-worker the line about how Christian music doesn't go gold and platinum... it goes gold and frankincense and myrrh. For a second she bought it.

Watched Noroi no yakata: Chi o sû me, Lake of Dracula. It wasn't bad, especially considering I picked it up of seventy-nine cents. It's like the bastard offspring of Hammer and Toho, and filmed in 1971 it's got this... kinda wannabe stylin' hip/not hip thing going on with the fashions and decor.

And speaking of retro-hip... Futureworld is going to be on tv this afternoon. Gotta catch that... It's always fun to see how close or far off retrofutures are. And since lately, I think of Blythe Danner as Will's mom on Will & Grace, it'll be fun to see her... aw man... nearly thirty years ago.
Holy cow... I'd forgotten that Michael Crichton was the writer/director of Westworld. Looking at his IMDB listing, I'm surprised that some of his films, like Looker and Terminal Man aren't available on DVD.
