Been awake for about four hours now.... been watching a CSI marathon... think I'm going to see how many episodes I can watch before I burn out. Disc 1, Season 1. First two shows work together. First ep ends with the death of Holly Gribbs, novice CSI right out of the academy, after she's been our eyes, meeting the rest of the cast, establishing relationships between the characters, defining heirarchies. Then she's killed. Her death sets up the conflict with Warwick and the Judge, as well as foreshadowing his gambling problems. The space of the team left by Gribbs is filled by Jorja Fox (YOW!!!) Heh. Ep 3. Nice further development of relationships- Sarah to Gil, student to teacher, Nick to Sarah, friendly sibling rivalry.Ep 4 does the skinned hand fingerprint glove thing. EW. There's a resolution of the Warwick/Judge subplot. The first four eps make for a self contained piece- the series could have folded right then and there'd be closure.

Yeah, y'know, I'm going to check out OTC sleeping pills because I've just thought WAY too much about CSI.

The new version of itunes has a function for podcasts. Neat. Nightline's started putting their main stories up in audioformat. Listened to a pretty good bit about this year's Crips, MS13. On doppler, I picked up Live From the Formosa Tea House, which is three guys having lunch and talking- but it's more than that, of course. Cause they're nerds. In a good way.

Burning eps of Doctor Who to cdrom. Mostly to clear my hard drive. Erasing cd's on my hard drive, music, War of the Worlds, VNV Nation, Tragically Hip. Still have the originals, just need the drive space.

(Shucks, meant to send this before going to work.... I went back to bed until noonish... and dreamed: Corpses in a stream at a vacation place owned by my parents. Too far out to get a signal, dad gives me his phone... too many bells and whistles on his phone to figure how to call for help... It bothers me a little that dreaming of waterlogged corpses doesn't bother me.)

Got my five year lanyard at work today. Wooo hooo.

Congrats
