The Great Influenza: The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague In History- why does it scare me that Bush is reading this book? Does he know something? What has the CDC been telling him?

I would want him to take note of the resistance some people had to the rigors of enforced quarantine. In our current times, however, with the outlets such as Internet, and television being cooped up when not covered with a mask won't be so burdensome. The CDC does note a shortfall of doses for the 2005-06 flu season on their prognostication page. The media push will be to get the elderly immunized first and those early buzzes will begin on CNN et al in early October.
