May. 28th, 2002 10:11 pmI've neglected my poor journal too much lately. I've had a bit of writers block, not just lack of inspiration, but lack of motivation. I've just been lately, my notebooks just sat in my backpack unopened. I've been reading some. I watched five hours worth of a Canadian sit-com called The Newsroom the last couple of days. Watched The Siege today, pre 9-11 thriller about terrorists in NYC. Kinda creepy in that context.

Wisely, I stocked up on smokes. Bought some Friday, another pack on Sat just to be safe. Miraculously, I've not run out yet.
--
Saw Star Wars ep 2, thought Yoda showed more range than the kid.
--
Books I've read recently included This Symbiotic Fascination .
Not the most cheerful thing I read in a while, but still somewhat interesting.
--
I found a new version of War of the Worlds - not the 1988 50th anniversary NPR edition, but one set on Grand Island, NY, done in the 70's including music from Cher.
--
Was BS'ing abt the egg for mom's day in case she should read this page- ended up getting her & dad tix to Down From the Mountain- the music of Oh Brother Where Art Thou... she liked that more than any ol' egg.
--
I saw the Kirstin Dunst movieThe Cat's Meow

Looks like I'm headed to the country with the parents to check out the compound. I need to start stocking up on books for that. If anybody sees this- suggest something. PLEASE. I'm going to a rural, isolated farm house- think "The Evil Dead". I hate crickets. I hate quiet. "Country air means filth to me, I won't breath nothin' I can't see" and all that. No TV either. No computer. I plan on burning some cd's. I hope they appreciate this show of familial unity on my part. Actually, mom just got a new desk and filing cabinet set and I want first dibs when she kicks off. So I gots to work the charms.
Crickets. Ugh. They had an infestation of Ladybugs earlier. That would be cool. If I'm lucky, maybe there'll be a thunderstorm.
