Sep. 18th, 2002 12:05 amOK- I need to post my trip information, which will be with my next post. But tonight: why I love Norfolk. Tonight was almost as much fun as the evening I spent at the bar in the Madison Hotel singing sea-chanteys. Tonight I spent my time at Kincaids talking about 60's tv shows with Slovenians. Ivo and Tony. Tony was the captain of a freighter hauling salt for Morton's. Tony bought me a second chartreuse. Lots of fun, talking to these two heavily accented fellows. I took over a bar stool vacated by a lady in town on business who really wasn't prepared to deal with an eastern European sense of humour. It was the kind of evening I wish we had more of in town... there just aren't enough foreign accents in Norfolk. That was the cool thing about OpSail, and that is the cool thing about Toronto: accents. It was cosmopolitan, international. Norfolk is too darn insular for it's own good.
