Aug. 17th, 2006 01:14 amI realized something last night, about 2:30: I haven't seen Cops in days. I've become hooked on the evil that is Youtube.com.
Music videos I haven't seen in DECADES.
And when you find that cool one you loved, there's a list of similar videos, things unseen before, stuff I've just heard about. I haven't had cable or access to MTv for a while, so there's a lot of catching up for me to do.
Any recommendations?

Heh. Spell check recognized MTv.

Watched the James Whale The Invisible Man tonight. Classic, of course. The thing that struck me was the previews, specifically the one for the remake of The Mummy. The original was a suspenseful, atmospheric horror movie. The remake... that was an adventure. Granted there were some horrific elements (bugs, acid) but really, they could have replaced Brendan Fraser with Harrsion Ford, a fedora, and a whip, and it would have worked just as well.

Aw man... I was just going to write snarky comments about Stephen Sommers, Van Helsing and remakes and I checked his IMDB listing and... he's in pre-production for Flash Gordon.
He must be stopped.

Not that the seventies version was perfect. But it introduced a whole generation of kids to Max Von Sydow. Ingmar Bergman's leading man, one of the finest actors in Europe. And the first thing that comes to mind when I think of him is "Ming the Merciless".

SCORE: Tonight's Cops is in Hollywood- it's like a poorman's version of a Michael Connelly novel.
