I'm a big ol' wimp. I'm the first person to admit it. I say this because I cry. Not over stuff like oh... pain or discomfort. That just makes me whine. But you wanna get the waterworks turned on, it's pretty easy. Simple Gifts does it to me almost every time. Aside from some midi stuff on the net, I've never heard a version that doesn't make me a little teary. And with the right combination, I can be reduced to sobs. Example: Yo-yo Ma and Allison Krauss. I'm not sure what it is about it. First, I guess, the music. Aaron Copeland at his finest. Then the lyrics. Theres just... a quality, an innocence.... a, I feel foolish using this word, a simplicity to them. A purity.
Allison Krauss's voice is light, yet sincere. This is awful: I mean, how do yo describe a diamond? Hard and transparent. See what I mean? But that's what this song is like: diamond like perfection.

I had a friend who really liked Allison Krauss. I didn't see what the attraction was until several months ago. I wish I'd paid attention so I could've enjoyed it with her... and could I get anymore maudlin?

Decided to download "Copy Killer" by Bodycount to balance my karma.
--
Decided NOT to forward "Cop Killer" to my mom, because I don't think she'd enjoy Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as much.
--
OOOOOOh yeah. Realize my mom hearing either "Cop Killer" or "Body Count" would probably be bad...
--
I typo'd "Cop" as "Copy". Funny how my mind works. And "spell check" wouldn't get it. I had another friend who, in college, added the word "scurf" to someone's spell checker then did a document wide "replace" on the word "iron" in a paper on the steel industry. Hilarity ensues.

"I feel a hate crime coming on."

I seem to have a lot of friends in the past tense these days.
