I was going to review DVDs. Something to keep me out of trouble. A dvd a night, that's a lot of movies. It's also a lot of writing, and even if it's not "*WRITING*" it's still writing. Tonight's entry was going to be Piranha. But an even better prospect presented its self:The House on Sorority Row. 80's misogynistic slasher fest- I hope. The first few moments were a flashback to someone having a baby in the 1960's then then credits... over a montage of vignettes of the girls in the sorority house. Clothes, makeup, shoes... it's like a scene from Legally Blonde. Except in Legally Blonde, it was meant as parody.
Law School, flight attendant, princess... There's even a coke joke. I'm sure these ladies were in the upper percentile of their class. SPAM in a Cabin, except that it's a sorority house, and not a cabin.
It's interesting in the fact that Scream 2 featured a killing in a sorority house, and I can see the homage thing going on. Kate McNeil makes a pretty good knock-off version of Jamie Lee Curtis.
All in all- it's not bad. It's not good either... I mean, there's a reason why it's being shown at 1 in the morning, but it's not bad.

I haven't seen Slumber Party Massacre in over ten years. Only saw it once. Rita Mae Brown has disavowed it. She wrote it to be produced in a tongue in cheek manner... too bad Hollywood lacked it's current sense of irony. Just think, coming soon: a remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. From Michael Bay. Just wrong...
