Dec. 11th, 2002 11:48 amI haven't posted in a couple of day, but then I haven't seen anything that made me want to post right then and there either. It's raining today, sounds pretty steady. It's doubtful I'll be going out. It's doubtful I'll actually *speak* to another person today.
I've realized the difference between "quiet" and "silence". It's purely qualitative, quiet being an environmental thing, my room is quiet with little more sound than the hum of the computer and the ac unit in the window; I am silent, with no one to talk to.

Date: 2002-12-11 11:12 am (UTC)"quiet" is passive, default, lack of sound.
"silent" is active, decisive. like having a non-verbal day because its time to have a non-verbal day, not because there is no one to talk to.
