Jun. 23rd, 2003 12:33 amPLAYING THE CATCHUP GAME:
Wednesday saw Zoph while he was in town. There's a big ol' Statue of Jesus in a local cemetary. It's copper, but the nails are iron. As a result, his palms have iron oxide around the nails, and some dribble down. Like He's bleeding. Not sure if it was a deliberate effect, but it was pretty cool.
--
Went to an Indian resturant on 21st street w/ Rogue, Zoph and a friend of Zoph's. Got stuffed. Had breakfast and lunch w/ Mom & Dad. Then bread pudding at Kincaids. Then Indian. Have been considering charting my sins. That would be gluttony.
--
Saturday was Harry Potter day at work. Ugh. I bought it, of course. I finished it at 3:30 am Sunday morning.
--
Between friday and saturday, I got over 1k words out. Not in the Novel, of course, but in something else I'm working on.
--
I had brunch today at Kincaids. Gluttony Gluttony Gluttony.
Afterwards I went home and slept. SLOTH.
I ate too quickly, that was the problem. I think I may try it again next time I'm off on a Sunday. It's paced for more than one person. I'd imagine if I'd had a companion, I'd have been able to eat it all. There was no pauses for conversation or stuff. But I read another book, Indigo by Alice Hoffman
--
I'm hating Oprah Winfrey. I hate the way the drones* flock to her books no matter what the title. People you would have had to put a gun to their head to make them read John Steinbeck. She gets points for chosing him as her start off author, tho. But really, just go out and get Indigo by Hoffman. It's worth it and it's a quicker read.
* here's how stupid the drones are:$14 for the old penguin edition, green spine, classical painting cover. $16 for the Oprah edition. Guess which one sold out first?
