Sep. 29th, 2007 09:19 amWith our tie-in happy Entertianment-Media-Industrial Complex there's always stuff coming out for tv shows and movies.
Why do the Brits get such cool toys like a Dalek Webcam and a Tardis USB Drive and we get... gosh I can't think of anything half as cool as those things.
I mean, when the Fantastic Four came out, there should have been oodles of stuff like that. And Batman stuff... eh. Just toys. And those were coated in lead paint.

Last night's Doctor Who was great. Russel Davies has done a remarkable job with the series, constructing story arcs that every season a stand alone 13-chapter novel, each chapter a, for the most part, a stand alone story that adds to the whole of the year's story. Bad Wolf, Torchwood, and now the Mysterious Mr Saxon. The best part of the season finales is always seeing the big picture, the "OH, that what that was" moment. And they've not disappointed this season either.
I'd seen The Sound of Drums before online, but there was something... exciting about seeing it on television.
I want to see an American show done on this scale. Unfortunately, most shows are shot with the eye on two seasons of twenty four episodes, for syndication purposes, so there isn't always the story arc compression taken into account when putting it together.
Something like 24 is an exception to the trend, and don't say X-Files, because Carter had to be making it up as he went along.

That was rambly. I shouldn't post without sufficient nutrition.

I lost my breakfast this morning. The plate that I've ever so carefully balanced on top of the coffee pot? Not so carefully balanced this morning. I lost an egg and the bacon strips. But the remaining egg hit the counter instead of the floor and I was able to put that with the toast for a breakfast sandwhich... of sorts. I don't think it really counted since there wasn't bacon.

Well, hell, I knew that and I didn't need a powerpoint presentation to tell me.

Date: 2007-09-29 02:48 pm (UTC)I thought the previous episode, Utopia, was the best episode I've seen in all of the new ones. The interactions between the two, slow remembering of the one, and foreshadowing for last night's episode.. awesome. (could have done without the post-apocalyptic cannibal people, but, eh, backdrop)
