clayhornikYesterday, Perry and I hit some flea markets and one of them, on Military Highway, had a woman selling Vegan soy candles. She was very professional, with a small shop instead of a table, and had the candles and Vegan soy soaps, and tree free greeting cards. Very Gaia-Friendly.
And a stack of pelts just completed the picture. A table in the corner COVERED in animal skins, hides.
Pelts.
I mean, thats one of those words you associate with Davy Crockett and an 1830 Tennessee Trading Post, not a fleamarket in NOrfolk Virginia.

On Jefferson Ave in Newport News there's a phone place called Boo-Boo Wireless. Wha-?
Seriously... who opens a store with a name like that? Or buys service from a place with a name like that? If you really nead a cell phone, service you can get them at 7-11. I just don't get it.

Just attempted to have lunch at a McDonalds in Kilmarnock. I've heard nightmare stories bout rude counterpeople at fast food stores, but I'd never had to put up with it before. We waited. None of the seven people behing the counter acknowledged our presence and we left.
I realize saying "we weren't that hungry anyway" smacks of sour grapes, but the coke at Subway was pretty sweet.

I just saw a deer on the Colonial Parkway. I know this is no big deal to Billsburg locals, but as "cityboy" such thing are, at best, abstractions.
