Well, that was interesting.
P picked me up after work tonight wanting dinner, and we decided on Wendy's.  Skip the one on Monticello Ave and hit the one on Little Creek.
That was a good idea.
we went inside and the fellow behind the counter dashed away, presumably because he didn't want to be bothered.  When someone did come out, I had to do a double take. (this is where I lose sensitivity points)
He only had half an arm.  Congenital defect.
He took our order and when P paid him- $12.99 with a twenty dollar bill- P handed him the dollar.  He held on to it for a moment, then handed it back to P since he was unable to get the change for it.  A part of me wanted to see how he would have gotten the penny  out of the register. (I am a bad person)
The young man the proceeds to fix our drinks.  Grasp cup, put cup in ice bin.  Release cup.  Place hand inside cup, raise cup from ice bin.  I didn't see this, P did.  I did, however notice the wide scratch on the back of his hand.
P asked another worker to fix our drinks.
Just then, a woman came in and asked to speak to the manager.  The young man who ducked back to the kitchen when we came in came out.  The woman unwrapped a hamburger and pointed at it, asking "what item of food is that?".
That was when P told them to cancel our order and we left.
Wendy's #802 on Little Creek Road.  Eat there at your own risk.

So we went to Johnny's.  Yum.
Jukebox.  I played Lloyd Price's Stagger Lee.  There was an older fellow sitting at the counter.  When the song started, with that introduction, a smile widened across his face and he started rocking in time with the music, singing along.  When it was over, he said that the song came out while he was in Junior High.  I think it jump started some happy nostalgia.
