I found a copy of The Town That Dreaded Sundown on VHS today.
Well... I'm sure it was cool on the screen at the drive in.
But the poster/box looked spiffy:

Now, it's going to go on ebay, where it should sell since it isn't on DVD... probably lost in the rights tangle in the collapse of Orion Pictures- AIP produced the movie and Orion later picked up AIP.

Theory:  The Texarkana Phantom IS Zodiac.  Same MO and everything except the notes.

There shouldn't be a rights issue. The chain of ownership pretty much went AIP, Orion, MGM, MGM/Fox. (Warner picked up the Orion catalog from MGM, minus the AIP acquisitions, so it shouldn't be a player here.) Lots of back-and-forth, but no conflicting claims. But AIP films that don't fit neatly into either horror or blaxploitation have been slow to come out all along.
