Arthur C Clarke has passed away.
He's one of those "matter of time" figures, I guess, and I know Kubrick had a major hand in 2001:A Space Odyssey, but the movie, then the book served as a major turning point in my genre loving life, showing me there was sci-fi beyond Stars Trek and Wars.
That and giving me a deep and abiding love for Strauss.
