So, it used to be that I could eat a half pint of wonton soup and an eggroll and that would keep me from say 6pm to 7am.  Then I added chicken teriyaki to the equation and I've been getting up the last few nights at 3:30ish hungry, fixing a bowl pf oatmeal.  P says it's because I've clicked my metabolism up a notch by adding the chicken/protein.  Which would have been good news if I'd been pursuing such a thing.
As it is, the novelty of waking up hungry at 3:30 is kind of annoying.
So, the oatmeal is a good idea, according to the Mayo Clinic.  I'm just going to start doing it earlier.

I've heard that. It seems bizarre that eating more food makes you hungrier more often, but there might be something to it.

Usually a glass of something sugary like fruit juice (and waiting ten minutes to absorb) tides me over when I wake up famished.
