Isabel Aftermath
Sep. 18th, 2003 08:45 pmOver a million households are without power and it could take up to five days to get everyone reconnected. I'm still out, using the battery. Downtown is up, the lights of the Radisson and the Marriott lit. Hopefully it won't be long.
The waters have started to recede at a surprisingly fast rate. Trees are down all over the neighbourhood. Sirens have started. Ambulances, likely, since a hospital is nearby.
I've open a window because my apartment has developed a scent- a combination of coffee, cloves and wormwood. Not a bad scent, but a little much.

I'm just giving myelf a half hour online, to conserve the battery. I am WAY too dependant on my computer.
