Staying at my parents house, not the one the live in now, but the one they had when I was in up til my freshman year in highschool.
bowers hill.
I'm smoking, doing it in th ebathroom leaning out the window into the back yard. The eastern boundary of the property is a ditch, about six feet deep, eight feet wide. We called the canals. I can see headlights racing along the other side of the canal, in a southerly direction, but there's no road for a car to travel on. When the lights disappear, I wonder where they went.
I see my dad in the backyard with a dog, my aunt's dog, watching him for her while she's in italy
I come out of the bathroom and my dad and youngest sister are watching tv- one of those huge seventies console tv's, as much a piece of furniture as a piece of technology- and I ask where the dog is and he's taken him back to aunts house so he can sleep in a familar environment.
Then I woke up.
--
I've been craving a cigarette lately and it seems to be manifesting in my dreams.
Lovely. Just gotta focus on this:

The weird part of the dream is that we never had a console tv set.
--
Gotta love googlemap. With the streetview function when ever I get nostalgic for my childhood in the swamplands of Chesapeake, I can tour the old neighbourhood virtually.
And when I did, I saw a Confederate flag flying proudly in someone's yard. Some places never change.
