Wednesday night I treated myself to a date: Dinner and a movie. Gothika at the mall. It wasn't bad. Standard "Dark Castle" fare. Probably the least interesting "shower scene in a women's prison movie" ever. Tastefully done. Wouldn't expect less from a Halley Barry movie. From a script by Sebastian Gutierrez, who wrote and directed the lovely She-Creature.
Dinner was at a new resturant on Granby Street, Sterling. I started with a cup of lobster bisque, creamy with nicely sized bits of lobster. This was followed by beef tips in a Guinness sauce. I only got the appetizer portion but it was sufficent, coming with a nice side of cheese grits.
I spent the evening with the only person I find tolerable for more than fifteen minutes lately, me. Yep. A nice night on the town, alone.
Today, Thursday, I stopped by Kinciads, for breakfast: bread pudding in a pear sauce, with ice cream. You gots bread, and milk, and fruit. The bread's full of carbs and the icecream and sauce provide sugar, so I've primed my pump to face the dragons at work. Today, however, I got a show as well. A homeless woman had wandered into Kincaids, and the manager asked her to leave- that is- go out into the mall. Well, there was a fatcat real estate developer having lunch, and he left his little group of zombies to ensure that she not only left the resturant, but that she left the mall. OH NO, no poor people in the mall. For gods sake, nothing to detract from the upscale-ness of the shopping experience. Fucking Facist.
Usually, I don't care about these things. Live and ignore, pretty much get me through the day. I think it's easier because otherwise I'd be even less pleasant than I am now.

I just saw a commercial for something called "senior net," teaching seniors how to use computers. One of the seniors was playing solitare on the computer. This amuses me, for some reason.

Watching Threat Matrix right now. Not sure why it's coming on at 2 am. I don't question these things, I merely accept and enjoy. It's... interesting. It's not The Agency, the CIA CBS show whose first season kicked ass. But entertaing.

Saturdays nights at Kincaids: Dawn. She's very Tori. A girl and her keyboard. Originals and covers. If you're ever in Norfolk, check it out.
