It's a Doctor Who episode, with David Tennant as the Doctor.
There are flashbacks of him with a beard on a sailing ship, and dressed like something out of a Sergio Leone western.
On the final episode of his run as the Doctor, we find out that there are thousand year gaps between Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars and The End of Time, in order to give the next crew of writers a little wiggle room.
The Doctor is in a sealed pod with Catherine Tennant and he's recording his memories just in case, and she's annoyed because that's a lot of memories from a 3k+ lifetime.
The pod is like the bullet rocket from Verne's From the Earth to The Moon.
