Jan. 29th, 2002 04:00 pmI need to shower. I feel dirty. For the first time in months, I took public transportation. Bad enough that the first bus I wanted was held up by a malfunctioning handicap lift, but the woman who sat next to me had a TB cough and was wearing a I(heart) Jesus bow in her hair. Women over.... twelve shouldn't wear bows in their hair. It's like white shoes after Labour Day.
I took the bus to Wards Corner to buy a birthday present for my sister. While there I bought some dried squid... kind of like Pacific Rim beef jerky. I also hit the local news stand while I was there and picked up the latest issue of Cemetary Dance- carried now, apparently at my suggestion. The ride home was better- after all who wants to sit next to someone eating squid jerky, reading a magazine called "Cemetary Dance." add the occasional giggle and I had all the elbow room on the way back I needed.
I made it home just in time for Springer, my daily dose of "There but for the Grace of God...".
Foot note to the bus trip- within the last week, I've seen two tv shows deal with fish out of water situations on the bus. One was Frasier. The other was Invader Zim. Which is just find because I fall somewhere in the middle.
