I know what evil lurks...
Feb. 12th, 2011 01:03 amPicked up a copy of International Crime at a discount store- it's based on the Shadow novels/ radio show.
They took liberties- Lamont Cranston is a radio broadcaster who covers crime under the nom du plume The Shadow, almost like a gossip columnist of murder. He and Phoebe (not Margo) Lane investigate the death of a businessman. It's really more "Thin Man" than Shadow, but it's fun.
International Crime and the Shadow film the preceded it- The Shadow Strikes- are both available at the Internet Archive.
And going through a box of books tonight I also unearthed a copy of Hypnotism by Walter Gibson- the man who wrote the original Shadow novels, writing about clouding men's minds.
