Late Late Show...
Feb. 17th, 2011 01:07 am Thinking about the Bertie Higgins song Key Largo and the idea of the Late Show while watching All About Eve.
I've gotten so accustomed to either having the dvd or tape of a movie or now with Hulu and netflix on demand, I can't wrap my head around the concept of watching a movie on the late show.
I remember as a kid getting the television section of the Saturday newspaper and looking to see what movies were playing.
Of course, back then we just had the six stations. WVEC showed afternoon movies and it and the other stations used movies late at night- before they'd end their broadcast days with a test pattern.
Doctor Madblood showed horror movies and WTVZ had black belt theater on Saturday afternoons.
Was there something satisfying about the wait to watch a movie, or am I just romanticizing the past a little?
