Last night I did a test copy on iTunes now that they've ironed out some of the things that bother me and I discovered a new one- one I'd forgotten about, really: the default converting has an insanely high need for disk space. The cd I used last night, 1.2 hrs long (this mortal coil's blood), used more than 700 megabytes. You can save a two hour long MOVIE in avi format for that much. I think it's time to get under the hood and tinker around a little bit, or perhaps copy the music with Realplayer and then import it onto iTunes.

What kind of encoding does it use? That's horrible. I thought they used variable bit rate MP3s these days.
