Dream: I was back in the neighborhood where I spent the bulk of my childhood- most of elementary school through my freshman year in highschool. I was at a bus stop in front of a house talking to the people who lived there. I saw a girl crossing the street toward her house and I asked if she was part of the (Smith) family, and the people I was talking said no, they didn't know the (Smiths). I decided to walk down the road to my old house and a school bus drove past, stopped and backed up- the driver was Mrs (Martin), mother of a classmate/friend of mine. We chatted for a few minutes and I told her how her son had actually show up in the "People You May Know" feed on facebook recently. She offered to give me a lift and I got on the bus...
...then I woke up.

This dream actually highlights an issue I think about occasionally. When I lived in neighborhood A, I had a set of friends, determined first by school (this neighborhood served two elementary schools), then by geography. In junior high, the populations of the two schools mixed with two others, and I kept friend sets from elementary school, but expanded somewhat. Then in high school, it was remained the same til we moved to neighborhood B, when I started walking to school. Virtually overnight I jettisoned my old friends for new ones... because we didn't have similar academic experiences. I was in classes with all my new friends, and academic clubs and extracurricular activities...
My old friends might have just as well dissolved into mist for all the thought I gave them. And I feel kind of bad about that. These were my friends, my go biking and running around and sleepover friends... and when ever I get in one of those moods, Perry points out that they didn't contact me either.
Happy Tuesday.
