Dracula's rather fun til the last third of the movie, til he becomes THE THREAT he should have been the entire time. The werewolf has moves like Spiderman... all bouncy and clinging to walls. Frankenstein's Monster is surprisingly noble, when captured, he recites scripture.
The opening sequence in in glorious black and white, with raising of the Monster, the angry villagers with torches and pitchforks, and the mill! There are enough references to the Classic movies to make the purists... less grumpy, including a poem the begins "Even a man who is pure in heart...".
Not sure if Van Helsing's sidekick/Q, Carl, was named after the man who produced the originals or not. (Carl Lemle)
The sequence seen through the eyes of a vampire... Vampi vision ... was pretty nifty.
If you should go see it, two things to think about:
1) Absinthe, in a burning mill... bottles still intact a year later and drinkable?
2) Just how many full moons in a month?
