It all comes back to Nixon. Everything wrong with society can be blamed on him.
Or maybe Woodward and Bernstein. It's all the *gate scandals. Watergate. OK. That's the beginning.
That's where the media at large somehow got the idea that sticking a suffix on something was a good idea. And for a while it managed to contain itself.
Then came the internet. And Napster.
The internet is the Typhoid Mary of memetic dissemination. Now, every clever program out there has a -ster after it. Friendster. Linkster. Feedster. Blogster. Sexster. Monster.
Wait. Strike that last one.
What started as a program named after it's programmer's nickname has become an evil, evil trend.
It must stop now. Or I'll have to release the ferrets. And nobody wants that. Trust me.
